Beyond Torc Waterfall, past the point where the tour groups turn back, the river path continues for another 40 minutes through ancient oak woodland to the Old Weir Lodge — a ruined hunting lodge on the banks of the Upper Lake with a view that will stop you in your tracks. No signage, no crowds, completely free. Only locals know it exists.
